Shoot! Five 4 Five Photo Exhibition
by Local Teens, Helps Curb Violence

(Marin County, CA) - Five 4 Five, with funding from the Marin Community Foundation, Autodesk and the Marin Board of Supervisors, proudly presents Shoot!, a series of photo essays taken by local teenage students. The exhibit will be on display from April 7 to May 31 at the Marin Education Fund, 781 Lincoln Avenue, San Rafael. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9am to noon and Tuesday and Thursday 1-5pm. Admission is free.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 7 from 5-8pm at the Marin Education Fund Gallery. All are welcome as guests of Five 4 Five. The Marin Education Fund is at at the San Rafael Corporate Center at Second and Lincoln in San Rafael.

High-quality, art-house magazines, featuring photographs from the exhibition, will be available for sale at the gallery. Proceeds will pay for Five 4 Five student scholarships. For more information call Mary Ann Maggiore, Co-founder and Executive Director of Five 4 Five, at (415) 460-1106.

Shoot!, initiated by a group of photography teachers from Northern and Southern California, focuses on issues such as gang violence, family relationships, body image, and drug abuse. The photo project which involved 700 students, hailing from Oakland to San Rafael to Marin City and South Central LA, will be showcase 20 prize winners in this powerful exhibition.

Shoot! which aims to turn potential gang members into accomplished photographers, is one facet of Five 4 Five. The Five 4 Five program, founded in 2002 and based in the Marin and Los Angeles, offers academic, psychological, financial, and peer support programs as well as cultural programs and activities to foster an appreciation for the arts, physical fitness, and the interpersonal world.
